Hi all

I bought this crystal which was named as topaz, but the specific gravity turned to be 2.64. The dealer who sold to me is a cheat?

With its SG measured at 2.64 and showing obvious conchoidal fracture in all directions, but no visible cleavage, it is very likely quartz, or it could be glass, but it is certainly not topaz.

Don't think it is Topaz, I don't see any cleavage, nine times out of ten its the "famous" Lemon Quartz.

or should I say infamous"

Agree. This is not topaz!

I have a larger piece of this that is nothing but glass slag.

I only keep it around because it will make a Geiger Counter click with joy.....

Lemon quartz is the first thing that came to mind when I saw the photos. Definitely not topaz indeed.
