I just got word of Earlene's passing. Published in Kansas City Star on Oct. 7, 2018:

Earlene Mae Schooler, 75, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on 27 September 2018 after losing her battle with cancer. She was a graduate of UMKC and worked with her Geology degree for several years. She and her husband went into business in 1982 and continued with it until her death. She is survived by her husband, John Schooler, her sister, Joanne Redden, and her brother, Walter Miller. She will be sorely missed.

Of Schooler's Minerals fame, I surmise. Remember them at several of our local shows, they always had something interesting. Yes, she will be missed. RIP, Mrs. Schooler.
Kevin; thanks for posting. If you know of any memorials in Earlene's honor, would appreciate you passing along the information. If you see John, please give him our love.

That name (Schooler) rings a bell, but for the life of me, I just can't place the person. Maybe if I saw a photo? Sounds like a great loss in the mineral world though. I fear that we will be saying that many times in the upcoming future as we lose more and more of the "experienced" mineral folks and not as many of our youth to carry the torch forward.

Earline was pretty much a "live wire" personality. Went out to dinner with them a few times with other mineral dealers. They carried fossils, minerals and meteorites and some jewelry (a pretty diverse show stock). They did a fair number of shows in the eastern part of Texas. Last time I can find any info was for the 2014 HGMS show.

I reached out to Roy Hurlburt. He told me that John Schooler is scheduled to set up this weekend in at the KCI Expo Center in Kansas City, Missouri: https://www.showsofintegrity.com/kc_november

At this time we don't know about any memorials for Earlene.
