LocalitiesHennereben, Styria, Austria

Another place that doesn't seem to exist except on mindat.

Any clues what it should be?

Roßbachgraben is a stream in the area of the Stubalpe/Packalpe. Hennereben is not listed in the maps of the Austrian land surveying office. It seems this term is in use of locals. The part "...eben" means a flat area - more or less (!) and is often in use in the Austrian Alps. You can see two examples in the attached map. I marked the Roßbachgraben with a red circle and I had added the coordinates for this mindat locality. There is one photo of prehnite listed by Gerd Stefanik. I think it is a find from an Alpine cleft so the exact position of the coordinates are estimated by me. The locality lies in the municipality of Obdach hard to the border of Carinthia.

Here are shown the geographical areas of Stubalpe (R.3) and Packalpe (R.3a) provided by the Styrian government.

I'm going to delete the Hennereben level then.

In Austria, there are about 15 topographical names starting with Henner..., so it seems a valid, albeit local name. In the official map of Styria, there is only a Hennerbach and a Hennerkogel, far from this locality.

If it's a valid name we'd see it somewhere else on the internet. If it's a local name it's so obscure that it's absolutely worthless.  It's probably a mistake

I'd retain it as a name,  the native collators know what it means and use it to denote a specific location.  No big deal to leave it alone.   Nice Austrian map.

Not much use to anyone else if only the local collectors know about it and don't explain what it is. It's gone now.

At the famous Red Cloud Mine, we can get neither a descent map, nor a good placement on a map,Austria  must know something that we don't.  Tom
