Again, I'm going to apologize for bad camera work.

One of my students gave me this as a gift.  It came from Millipas, Mexico, and that's what they were told it was.  I'm afraid to run any kind of tests on it, not really knowing what to do.  The whole piece is about 5x6x6 cm.  The green crystals run throughout

Welcome to mindat Julie.
You are right, it's a malachite pseudo after azurite and the locality seems OK too.
Enjoy the specimen.

Thank you!  It's one of my favorites!

Agree.
No need to be afraid, just enjoy the specimen.

Let's get the spelling right though, it should be Milpillas, shouldn't it?

Thank you, I'll fix it.  Actually wasn't too bad for a 4th grader!

Actually wasn't too bad for a 4th grader!

I'd say pretty good for a beginner.....

I am sorry Julie, I was not being critical of either you or your student for the spelling mistake, rather I was disappointed that neither of the 2 experts who replied to you had either not noticed, or not corrected, the mistake. After all, Milpillas is a very well known locality to all mineral collectors.
