GeneralWhat happened to my azurite malachite

I bought this piece from russia. It was in my drawer with the other minerals.




Now all the yellowish green has disappeared leaving the azure and some malachite veins.

The yellow-green might have been iron residues left over from poor cleaning. Perhaps these have oxidized in the air, and thus disappeared.

Or it could have been copper chloride residue that oxidized.

Or the yellow-green stuff dehydrated.

Try and rehydrate with some steam under a box with the mineral.

It does look like something has powdered and fallen off
