GeneralPOTD July 17, 2018

Caption states - "Maghrebite, Novacekite, Zeunerite, Erythrine" - image should not have been approved without a more meaningful description when rare minerals and multiple phases are clearly evident in the image.

Which is which? Especially needed for the less knowledgeable.

We can do better for POTD captions.

I agree. It would really be helpful to have a description of each phase

Hi Guys, keep cool !

maghrebite xx are colorless, spharped like gypsum.

Cristals are on the pink ( erythrite) area in the middle.

novacekite xx are opaque yellow, numerous on the picture.

zeunerite xx are very smalls, dark green agggregate.

On this picture, erythrine is not cristalised. it is the pink zone.

n'hesitez pas à me contacter pour plus d'information.

Bien cordialement,

Bob
