Mineral ShowsDiscuss please: Muslim & Arab ban and mineral shows i.e. Tucson

29th Jan 2017 17:25 UTCPeter K. Szarka

I'd like to pose a few questions regarding the U.S. president latest executive order. I personally find it a bit worrisome and wonder if anyone or anyone you know has been affected.

Has there been any discernible effect of Trumps ban on Arabs and Muslims entering the U.S. on the Tucson show? Or any other show for that matter.

Are any green-carded dealers concerned about leaving the country and then being denied re-entry?

Can we expect the availability of specimens to diminish from regions like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia and other Muslim countries or will we start seeing a new level of intermediaries handling them?

Will these specimens start to increase in price?

It is not a ban on Muslims or Arabs just people from specific countries. Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indonesia are not on the list and the countries that are, do not provide much in minerals so I would not expect any effect.
