This appears to be basalt with green minerals running through it . Can anyone identify the mineral? Found it in a creek that flows into the Muskingum river in Ohio.

Your specimen has several characteristics of slag.  It may be better to have a local expert look at it in person.

i thought it was slag at first but its not magnetic

slag certainly need not be magnetic.
