Improving Mindat.orgRed Bird Mine, Cochise Co. Arizona listed twice

27th Sep 2017 18:29 UTCRolf Luetcke Expert

A friend had collected at the Red Bird Mine in Cochise County Arizona a while back and stopped by again yesterday.

He gave me a piece from there to pass along to someone and I took photos of it.

When I went on mindat to add the photos I saw a mistake.

They have the Red Bird Mine listed twice for different spots but there is only one.

The Red Bird Mine, Red Bird Hills is the exact location of the mine.

The Red Bird Mine(Gold Coin) has the symbol a bit East and over no workings at all.

The one is listed under the Little Dragoon Mts. and I don't know if the Red Bird Hills are an actual extension of the Little Dragoon Mts but I believe this is where the mistake happened.

It is clearly the same place.

I emailed Chester Lemanski about this but know he is at Franklin at the moment.

The information for the workings that is on the Gold Coin location is the correct information but the Red Bird in Red Bird hills is the location of the mine. Can the two pages be combined without the loss of the information.

I posted the two photos I took on the Red Bird Hills location but if they are combined it is still Red Bird Mine so that shouldn't matter.

Hope this can be fixed.

Chet,

Thank you so much for fixing this.
