I had to go back and have a look at the specimen. It is like a fine sandstone texture and is purplish-grey in colour, a bit lighter in person than in the photo.

Almost 10 years on, and no discussion about this. At the very least, there should be two sub-localities as there are mineral specimens that are definitely attributable to each mine.
