Ok did the vinegar test and it surely fizz.. so.. either aragonite or calcite.. hope someone can help me with the cleavage.. from my point of view i do not see the perfect rhombohedral cleavage.. what do u guys think?

Thank you Herwig! I’ll try it! As for the cleavage I’ll break a piece and try with the microscope to determine it.. they are very tiny crystals..

This speciment comes from Paphos, Cyprus. It’s Quartz and on top is this “gray” acicular crystals.It’s a carbonate mineral. It reacts with diluted cold HCL. What I’m trying to figure out is what exactly is it? Aragonite, Calcite, Strontianite?I’ll post more pictures under microscope for ...

It looks like it was crystalized in the tetragonal system.. correct me if am wrong..

Jose thank you for ur response! Looks like u r right! The first time i did the scratch test it definitely scratched it but maybe when i did it there was some small harder mineral attached to the crystal and i thought it wasn’t necessary to do the acid test since it was not calcite.. don’t ...

Found a huge rock that mainly looks like the photo, near Phyti Village, Paphos, Cyprus. I’m almost certain that is Breccia but i need your opinion too. (It doesn’t look like pegmatite right?) on the next photos you can definitely see a milky quartz but that black mineral I cannot identify it.. ...

Yea they r beautiful! In this picture notice the transparent yellowish crystal in the middle.. further up right there are smaller black ones with perfect shape!  Bottom of the picture is a cluster with bigger crystals! I do like quartz crystals and their  different formations!

I’m  new to this Alfred and still learning.. I’m a Surveyor and have little knowledge of geology (geology classes at the University) but i know nothing about crystallography! I’ll make sure I’ll read the articles! Thank u!
