| Abstract/Notes | This work is devoted to a crucial petrochemical problem: calculating the standard composition of rocks. The author (known to Soviet readers from his book "Volcanoes and Their Activity") proposes a new conversion method, compared to currently used methods, that yields results that more closely reflect the actual mineral composition of rocks. The methodological foundations and principles of the new method, the potential of computer use, and examples of its application in petrology are presented in detail. This book will be of interest to a wide range of specialists in the field of igneous rock petrology, as well as students and faculty of geological colleges and universities. | ||
