An isolated and very small lead/copper mine worked in the early 1800s. The workings consist of a run in level and shaft at grid reference SO 085 342 and a short trial level at grid reference SO 072 358.

The mine is a geological curiosity and worked a north-south striking vein in Old Red Sandstone, a formation that rarely contains lodes in the UK.

Reports that rhodocrosite formed the main gangue mineral (Hall - 1971) have subsequently been shown to be incorrect. Analyses at the National Museum of Wales and at the Oxford Museum have shown the material to be dolomite with a pink colouration caused by iron. This was corrected in the second edition of Hall's book (1993).
