Workings east and west of Slate street, 0.8 kilometres south-east of the Goomalling railway station.

History is unknown. It was an anthophyllite mine containing common opal and siliciophite. Irregular masses of opal were recorded as common in weathered serpentine, being white, brown and black, and mottled specimens showed bright green, violet and grey colours.

The site appears to have been used extensively by the local council to dump gravel and other material. As such alot of the area has been covered, and/or rehabilitated and little could be seen of the original workings, or the species previously recorded. The 1997 version of Gemstones of Western Australia, described it as a site where cats-eye opal was once found.
