The Lion Gold Mine is a small historic prospector show operational between 1905 to 1910 by Joe Murphy and Frank (surname). The site contained several very small but rich leaders. 6 acres.
The site is about 1 kilometre south-west of Menzies, with the Lady Florence (now Lady Shenton open pit) bordering to the east, the Balkis lease to the north and Leonardis lease to the south. Maps would indicate the Lion is now under a mountain of tailings from the more recent Lady Shenton open pit development.
