Frederico Westphalen is a pretty little town in Rio Grande do Sul. There are quarries here that produce the Amethyst flowers that we have seen coming from Brazil in recent years. They don't have a lock on the production of these items because there are more quarries in the region near Irai that apparently also produce them, although I have been only to one locality near Frederico Westphalen.
