A former small underground Cu-Ag-Au mine located in the NE ¼ sec. 20, T.19S., R.25E. Owned at times, or in part, by the Hope Mining and Milling Co. (1956), Leadville Mining Co., the Calumet & Arizona Mining Co., Needles Mining & Smelting Co., U.S. Smelting & Refining Co., and the Andes Copper Co. Operated by the Big Bear Mining Co., Denver, 1956, Odell Still, Sublessee, Leadville Mining Co.
Mineralization is a replacement deposit of cuperiferous, pyritic replacement orebodies in steeply dipping, highly metamorphosed Cambrian Abrigo Limestone and Bolsa Quartzite. Oxidation is spotty.
Local structures include post-enrichment smaller faults striking SW to N-S with variable dips. Tectonic features include faulted contact to the east with Mississippian limestone.
Workings include a shaft(s), 45.7 meters deep; and 150 feet of drifting reported by Wilson, 1927. Over 12,000 tons of ore were produced from 1917 to 1924.
