Alteration: Gray Sandstone And Limonite-Stained, Bleached Sandstone Along Veins
Deposit: This record includes information from duplicate record d002524 by william j. Hasler (77 05) which has been deleted.
Deposit type: Sediment-hosted Cu
Development: High zinc content of ores incurred a penalty at the smelter.
Geology: Reported calcite-limonite veins in the overlying permian hueco limestone. Banded intergrowths of barite and sulfides suggest that some barite is primary. Barite and calcite also contain two-phase (liquid-vapor) fluid inclusions. Fragments of sulfides and sandstone locally occur in (fault?) breccia with a barite matrix. Sandstone is locally sheared, suggesting fault motion.
Rock formation(s): Hazel Formation
