Deposit: Discovery year: early 1880's this was part of the french co.'s galena holdings from early 1880's to early 1900's. The battle mountain vein lies east of the white and shiloh mine on the hill north of galena, and was developed in part by the lady blain tunnel. Production was from 1880-1885 with no record of amount, but total from french co. Galena area holdings totalled $4 to $6,000,000 in au, Ag production. ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Development: Part of the french co.'s galena holdings; production was from 1880-1885.
Geology: Ore occurs in a 2-ft-wide band along the NE wall of the 4-8 ft. Wide fracture zone. "the ore is a reddish-brown soft material carrying some stibnite and remnants of galena surrounded by some anglestie. Cerussite and possibly horn silver are present, and what appears to be argentite replaces some of the galena." - hill
