A former lode Ag-W-Au-Sb occurrence/mine located in secs. 1 & 12, T30S, R40E, MDM, about 2.3 km S of Johannesburg (3 miles SE of Randsburg), on private (patented) land. Owned by the Monarch-Rand Mining Company, Ponoma, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in quartz latite and schist. The ore body dips 60SE at a thickness of 1.07 meter and plunges N40E, N-S. The vein is 3.5 feet thick. The ore body occurs on the hanging wall of a quartz latite dike. The vein is truncated on top, bottom and both ends by faults. There are also several stringer zones. Gangue includes quartz and pyrite. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 152.4 meters and comprised of a 300 foot shaft and 500 foot shaft with levels at 118, 168 and 218 feet. The original workings are approximately 1,600 feet SE of the BAltic shaft. A working agreement existed whereby the property would be explored by a crosscut driven from the 300 foot level of the Garford lease shaft.

Production data are found in: Hulin, Carlton D. (1925).

Analytical data results: Ore assayed $48 (period values)/ton, chiefly in Au.
