A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 22, T12N, R8E, MDM, 2.9 km (1.8 miles) SSE of Auburn, on the W ridge of the North Fork American River. The property is comprised of 2 claims. Owned by Charles Glover (1935). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes NE and dips SE at a thickness of 3.05 meters. The vein is 3 to 10 feet thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 457.2 meters, overall depth of 30.48 meters and comprised of a shaft, tunnel (adit ?) and drifts (the topo map reflects an adit symbol near the coordinates provided).
