A former lode Au mine located in secs. 14 & 15, T31N, R6W, MDM, 0.9 km (2,900 feet) SSE of Mule Mountain (coordinates of record) in the headwaters area of Stony Gulch. Closed 1932. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in quartz diorite. The ore body is tabular in form, strikes NE and dips 90 (vertical), at a thickness of 0.91 meters. It consists of 2 parallel veins, about 15 feet (4.55 meters) apart. The ore veins are associated with a fine-grained, mafic dike. The ore is gold associated with sulphides. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 4 (Klamath Mountains and Northern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include unspecified underground openings on the 2 veins.
