The Kibo volcano (or volcanic cone), with its Uhuru peak, of 5891.8 m above sea level, is the highest point of the Kilimanjaro mountain, and the roof of Africa. Throughout the ascent to Kibo can be found various mineral species of volcanic origin.

Occurrence of cm-sized anorthoclase crystals in outcrops of rhomb porphyries.
