14E-629Albite (Var: Cleavelandite) Na(AlSi3O8) , Quartz SiO2 , Tourmaline AD3G6 (T6O18)(BO3)3X3Z , Columbite-(Mn) Mn2+Nb2O6 , Spodumene LiAlSi2O6
Black Mountain Quarry, Rumford, Oxford County, Maine, USADimensions: 5.5 inches x 4 inches x 3 inches
The piece collected was mostly whitish albite var. Cleavlandite with spots of grayish quartz. Two cross sections of dark blue black tourmaline are seen. One on the upper left and a small one on the bottom left. Thin black tabular crystals of mn-columbite are seen radiating in the bottom albite, with one tabular crystal broken on the top left. Spodumene is seen as the beige crystals with a wood like texture, the largest next to the tourmaline in top center.
