For some given context it primarily smooth, grey, and bubbly, but there are also rough rust colored spots. Found in dirt wall alongside a ohio creek. There is a lot of this there along with coal, old glass, and metal.

Also the grey appears not to be metal. It has breaks in it that shore a inside filled with pockets. Maybe it is glass?

It's slag or clinker from a probable coal furnace fire. Common along old railroad tracks. Tom

Looks like buchite clinker. Thanks for the help. Was really unsure what it was. I thought it might of been melted glass because the area is a old bottle dump. Have seen melted glass, but nothing like this until recently.
