I picked up some micromount rough at the Rochester Symposium attributed to "Scott claims, Pima Co., Arizona". The mineral list includes:

The closest match in Mindat is:

with a completely different mineral list. I can find vanadinite, descloizite, calcite and willemite. I also see what looks like flat dipyramidal wulfenite. And these yellowish sprays that remind me of mimetite.

Have any of our Arizona specialists collected at Scott claims? Is the Mindat locality the only one, or is there another one somewhere else in Pima Co.? Any and all comments are welcome! Thanks!!

Looks like Scott had more than one group of claims.

Or there are mineral claims by more than one Scott!

Steve, I wouldn't worry about. Cookie & I have found many unlisted minerals as micros in New Mexico mines. They go un-noticed by the miners and are therefore of no interest. We've added several to the lists here on Mindat - you should do the same.....

I think that the Scott Claims are another name for the Sammy Dog (Hillside, God's Claim), and the location on the map for the Scott Claims is the correct location fofr the Sammy Dog (etc..  I collected there before the National Park was established.

I think that Jim hit the nail on the head---my first thought was the Sammy Dog.
