Improving Mindat.orgError locality edit.

19th Feb 2012 12:05 UTCNicu Pascanu Expert

These corrections are needed in editing the following locations:

1-Instead of " Turt, Satu Mare, Maramures Co., Romania", correct name is: " Turț, Oasului Mts., Satu Mare Co., Romania"

2-Instead of " Turt Mine (Ghezuri Mine), Turt, Satu Mare, Maramures Co., Romania", correct name is: "Turț Mine (Ghezuri Mine), Turț, Satu Mare Co., Romania.

Turț (locality), Turț Mine and Turț Băi are part of Satu Mare County and District. In terms of Administrative division.

Fixed (while keeping Satu Mare city in the hierarchy), but a question: you suggested "Oasului Mts." only for Turț - should it used also for the mines beneath Turț? Or omit it?

EDIT: Compare also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oa%C5%9F_Mountains (Oaş Mountains (Romanian: Munţii Oaşului) - located in Maramures Co.).

An unrelated question:

Do you by chance know any details about "Fatiabaja"? Such as modern name, county etc.?

19th Feb 2012 21:56 UTCNicu Pascanu Expert

1-The eastern side of Oas Mountains is located in the northern Maramures Co. "covering" a smaller surface, but can not be considered a reference for the Maramures mining areas. Turt mine is located in the geographical area Negresti-Oas, Oas Mts.

2-Fatiabaja, certainly not a Gold occurrence. Not mentioned in the Romanian Journal of Mineral Deposits. Maybe, another edit error.

Mineralienatlas: Fata Baii (Zlatna, Alba Co., Romania)=Facebanya ( reg. Faczebaja, Faczebaj ).Not "Fatiabaja" !

If some people have used the wrong name for the locality ( for example: Budapest-Budapesta, in Romanian) "Bodopes"-don't think it would be advisable to use it.

Uwe,

In the same context, it would be a problem on the following toponymy: "Tausore Cave, Rodna (Rodnei) Mts., Maramures Co., Romania".

Can still be "Tausoarelor Spring Cave (Pestera Izvorul Tausoarelor), Rodna Mts., Bistrita-Nasaud Co., Romania" ?

Thanks Emil & Nicu!

- Have added "Negrești-Oaș, Oaș Mts" to Turț

- Fatiabaja: fixed (have kept this spelling as an alternate name because I had encountered it on old labels of gold specimens)

- Cave: fixed (incl. hierarchy for the county); some info added.

Uwe,

Thank you also myself. It was a great help to clarify these issues.
