Location: This approximately located occurrence is about 2 miles west of Hardscratch Point on Popof Strait (MacKevett and Holloway, 1977, locality 15; Wilson and others, 1988, locality 15). The map site is at an elevation of about 550 feet, in the SW1/4 of sec. 7, T. 57 S., R. 75 W., of the Seward Meridian. The location is accurate to within 2 miles.
Geology: This site is described as altered zones in Tertiary volcanic and intrusive rocks (MacKevett and Holloway, 1977). The rocks in this area are mapped as Popof volcanic rocks of late Eocene to early Oligocene age (Wilson and others, 1995).
Age: Eocene or younger.
