The Vegas Gold Mine is in the Galaxy area of the western Boogardie goldfield. The Saturn West and Reno pits are to its south-east, Mars open pit to the east and Brown Hill open pits to its north. Vegas saw a small amount of mining and exploration work in the 1980's. In July 2010, Ramelius Resources purchased the Mount Magnet gold leases from Harmony Gold. It started mining the existing nearby Mars and Saturn open pits in 2011. In 2012, the company estimated the resource was only 64 tonnes at 1.2 Au g/t worth 2000 oz. The Mindat co-ordinates are approximate, the description placing the site near the Saturn West and Brown Hill mines, or possibly incorporated into the large Reno/Mars/Titan etc pit.
