Approximately 2 kilometres south of Coolgardie between the Nepean and Victoria Rocks Roads. The Mindat co-ordinates are approximate, the references noting a site which turned out to be a sand mine. The gold site is likely nearby in the scrub, but probably little remains due to its short history.

In January 1894, a local syndicate was formed called the Coolgardie South Gold Mining Syndicate, to sink a shaft. July 1896, the syndicate held its first meeting, at which point the company was wound up. It had raised a whole 250 pounds capital for its mining venture, of which 150 pounds had been expended at that stage.
