Originally part of the Primrose Leases. It was worked for five years from 1896. In 1899, a London syndicate took an option over the mine, but failed to complete the purchase. After a period of exemption, the owners of the Brilliant lease took over the mine in 1902, re-naming it the Brilliant North.
The lease contained two inclined shafts 170 and 120 feet deep, and 100 feet apart. Both were connected by a drive. The lease was sold shortly after to the Atlas company which controlled the Camellia and Camellia Extended leases.
