New Bau is a modern abandoned open pit in the Sudden Jerk area, 8 kilometres north north-west of the Mount Monger pastoral station homestead. The Futi Baguss pit is adjacent to the east. Just east is what appears to be a geologist's camp with shed and rows of sample boxes. Just north is a machinery storage area. No information could be found relating to mining and is needed.
