A former pumice mine located in sec. 35, T21S, R38E, MDM, 2.6 km (1.6 miles) WSW of Cactus Peak (coordinates of record), on military reservation land (China Lake Naval Ordnance Test Station). Owned by the Crownite Corp., California (1956-1981). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings include surface openings (the topo map clearly reflects an open pit mine).
