A stone (crushed/broken) deposit/quarry located in the center NW¼ of sec. 18, T10N, R15E, SBM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) NW of Desert Spring (spring) (coordinates of record), about 7 km E of the Colton Hills, W of Black Canyon Wash, on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: The USGS MRDS database file presents MRDS file #10077248 as a related file. Examination of that file revealed that it pertains to another locality with a similar name near the city of Colton and has no relationship here at all. Several species occurrences ascribed to this locality were deleted since they apparently pertained to the other locality.
Local rocks include Precambrian granitic rocks, unit 1 (Eastern Mojave Desert).
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
