Bayldonite from
Tieftobel, Schmitten, Albula Region, Grisons, Switzerland

Locality type:Deposit
Classification
Species:Bayldonite
Formula:PbCu3(AsO4)2(OH)2
Comments:The only sample of Tieftobel heimite, which shows distinct crystals, was originally thought to be bayldonite. Both minerals have similar chemical compositions. After the first discovery of heimite at its type-locality, the alleged bayldonite from Tieftobel was re-analyzed - partly because of the too-good-to-be-true crystals - and found to be heimite (color, chemistry and crystal forms all match).
