Hisingerite from
East Kemptville Tin-Indium Project (East Kemptville Tin Mine), East Kemptville, Argyle, Yarmouth Co., Nova Scotia, Canada

Locality type:Project
Classification
Species:Hisingerite
Formula:Fe23+(Si2O5)(OH)4 · 2H2O
Comments:Richardson adds hisingerite to a paragenetic sequence plot, with a question mark behind the name. More recent WDS testing on very good material gives Si and Fe, with a bit of Al as an impurity. The material is red, botryoidal, and resinous, with a conchoidal fracture, all fitting most closely with hisingerite.
