If anyone out there is looking for some light hearted gem related fun on facebook, check out "The concerned Gemologist", it's a lot of fun, basically poking fun at an industry that can be a little stuffy at times.

I can't find it either, and will return to FB and try searching from Jolyon's home page.

I wanted to pass along what I just saw on Wiki Commons.... they got a donation of a boatload of mineral images and need some help sorting them out. It's on the main page and I will also copy the citation in case it gets rotated off. I hope this is OK to post.

Robert Lavinsky, PhD, has donated his complete picture database on mindat.org (about 29,000) and all images from his own homepage irocks.com to Wikimedia Commons. He has also offered about 20,000 additional pictures from his archive to be used as needed.

We need help translating the description of all pictures, screening the pictures on irocks.com for missing pictures, and uploading them to Commons. You can read more about how you can help us here.
