LocalitiesGila River, Alum District, Grant Co., New Mexico, USA

I have had several of the Gila zeolites tested by Virgil Lueth (NMBGMR) and/or some his student helpers. Zeolites such as "chabazite", "levyne", "stilbite", etc. have all been Ca dominant. Some recently ID'd from the Middle fork are mordenite and fluorapophyllite.

Patrick,

Does the chalcedony associated with these zeolites glow under UV similar to your N. Table mountain vugs?

Is there any chance you can add the lat/long coordinates to the Alum district to the Locality page? Here is a link to the online township-coordinate converter:

Hi Dean. I do not recall ever seeing any chalcedony associated with the zeolites. The quartz that I have seen has always been crystalline.

I have done no prospecting in the Alum District, nor do I know its boundaries.
