This photo bears no resemblance to the goyazite which occurs as red nodules embedded in the beach platform. Probably not even goyazite and definitely not the material from Myponga Beach.

You are probably right Ben (I'm not familiar with that mineral at all) but as Judy passed (I think in 2016) maybe we should simply make the photo member only.

It certainly looks wrong but Judy was usually careful to work with mostly well characterised material from the MoV, so maybe it’s worth talking to Stu there to see what he knows of the specimen?
