Mineral ExchangesU/REE Pegmatite Rarities

28th Aug 2011 23:03 UTCPhilip Persson Expert

Hey Guys,

Have some specimens available for trade representing some unusual minerals:

1.) Thorogummite with Kasolite, Thorite, and Uranophane , Seerie Pegmatite, South Platte District, Colorado. Rich, colorful specimens from 1 x 1" to 6 x 6".

2.) Fluorbritholite-(Ce) with Allanite-(Ce): Rusty Gold Claim, Jamestown, Colorado. -New Find; first occurrence of species in U.S, analyzed. Very Rich specimens from 1x1" to large cabinet size.

3.) Galkhaite, Getchell Mine, Humboldt Couny, Nevada: good rich non-xlized. specimens, dark red Galkhaite in silcified limestone breccia. Thumbnail to small cab. size.

4.) Aeschynite-(Y), Clora May Mine, Trout Creek Pass, Colorado. Solid specimens from 1x1 to 5 x 5 cm., on excellent terminated 4 cm. crystal.

5.) Synchysite-(Y) with Thorite, Seerie Pegmatite, South Platte District, Colorado. -Rich specimens with brick-red Synchysite xl. sections in feldspar, from 1x1" specimens to large cab. pieces.

Not to sound too difficult, but generally I am not interested in international trades unless some timeliness commitment can be established; ie I've dealt with too many long/drawn-out trades where communication was low and shipping was high.

Also I am not interested in sifting though a long list of ultra-rare minerals I've probably never heard of in micros sizes, nor am I interested in mediocre specimens of common minerals; I would rather have one nice piece of something or a representative sample of something rare. Other than that I think I'm pretty easy to trade with! Not expecting a 10" gem tourmaline crystal or 5 lb. chunk of Thortveitite, just something reasonably interesting. :)

Best Regards,

Philip Persson

Hi Philip,

Yes, I am very much interested in your samples. Especially because you are talking about MM and TN...

I have great samples to offer you from Brazil & Chile, in good sizes as well (including some very rare ones). For example: Landesite/Reddingite, Kosnarite, Zanazziite, Ferrotapiolite, Fluornatromicrolite, Quenstedtite, Ammineite, Sideronatrite, Caracolite, Voltaite, and many others.

You can receive your samples quickly, as I will fly to US in few weeks from now.

Just write me: reynaldo.contreira@hotmail.com explaining your preferences.

Best regards

Philip,

This is just a note to say I am pleased with the Jamestown Flourbritholite trade we did last spring. If your euhedral Aeschynites are anything like the ones I just found Clora May dump, then they are world-class specimens.

Regards,

Dean Allum
