Formula:
(Sr,REE)4Zr(Ti,Fe3+)4(Si2O7)2O8
Name:
For Shachia (Pinyin: Shajia), a small uranium occurrence in the Saima complex, Fengcheng County, Liaoning Province, China.
Synonym:
A synonym of Hezuolinite
Mentioned in a report of the Saima Deposit Research Group in 1978 as a new mineral from the Saima complex: "It is a silicate of Sr, Ce, Ti, and is more or less similar to Chevkinite family in structure and in both optical and physical properties, but it contains SrO up to 22%, ZrO2 9.26%, ThO2 0.25% and U3O8 0.14%". This corresponds to the mineral originally described as saimaite, which was considered as identical to strontiochevkinite, but has later been shown to be indeed a distinct phase which has been given the name hezuolinite.
