The beds here are very low in the Abrahamskraal Formation (Beaufort Group), being situated about 90-100m above the contact with the Carnarvon Formation (uppermost formation of the Ecca Group in this part of the Karoo Basin)... the strata at Vleikraal are regarded as middle to usandstone259.9 - 252.17 Ma
