Unit f (Tarhia Stage), Djebel ed Djir, Algeria - Anderson (1936) | Anderson R. V. (1936) | Tarhia | The collection is from unit f, a sandy marl, 24 m thick, 44 m above the top of the section. The Mellah Stage of the Tellian Group is overlain by a thick marine formation composed of mostly dense argillaceous marl. The stage is thought to represent a considerable portion of the lower Pliocene. Its basal member is composed of conglomerate, which is then overlain by marl. The stage reaches up to 600 m in thickness. | marl | 5.333 - 3.6 Ma Neogene |
