Tyskerporten, Kragerø, Telemark, Norway

Dimensions: 9 cm x 5 cm

Ilmenite crystals partly pseudomorphed to rutile and titanite (light brownish). The crystals are partly covered by a reddish film of (probably) iron (hydr)oxides.
On a matrix of a greenish amphibole (tremolite?). With some minor (white) quartz.

Prehnite perimorphs after laumontite crystals. From an irregular, rather large cavity in Permian basaltic lava (B1 sequence) at Bentsrud, Holmestrand, Norway. Found near the surface, before the blasting for construction of a new alignment for the highway E 18 started.

Greyish to milky white quartz crystals, some are sceptre quartz, on quartz matrix. Found in a irregular cavity in a Permian rhombic porphyry, Hem 6-type lava at Saltkopp, Tønsberg (south of Åsgårdsstrand), Vestfold Norway.

Group of milky white sceptre quartz on quartz matrix dusted with tiny, white feldspar crystals. Found in a irregular cavity in a Permian rhombic porphyry, Hem 6-type lava at Saltkopp, Tønsberg (south of Åsgårdsstrand), Vestfold Norway.
