Silver mining earliest mentioned in a letter 1562 from the Danish King to his local lord asking him to make sure that the miners have access to firewoood to the mines. Conitnued during 17th & 18th century for silver & lead in galena.

Two main fluorite veins striking NW, one located E of Gladsax (main source) & one S of Gladsax. Mined for fluorite in the 1940s. Fluorite, quartz and galena veins in quartzite. Nice rock crystals.

Hisinger (1826) use the name "Horsehall bei Gladsax" but later literature only use the name Gladsax. Locality not to be confused with Horsehall quarry
