A Au occurrence located in the NEΒΌ sec. 16, T13S, R19E, SBM, (6.25 miles NE of Glamis). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
NOTE: The USGS MRDS database file presents geographic coordinates that place this locality in the western Cargo Muchacho Mountains, while it states that the location is at the SW base of the Chocolate Mountains (where it belongs based on its presence in the Mesquite District).
Mineralization is hosted in alluvium. Quaternary alluvium overlies brecciated gneiss. The gneiss is complexly intruded by acidic dikes before faulting. The breccia is part of a fault zone trending NW. Associated rocks include Holocene gneiss of the Chuckwalla Formation. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 9 (Cargo Muchacho Mountains).
Workings include surface openings with a length of 60.96 meters, overall depth of 7.62 meters and an overall width of 45.72 meters and comprised of a 25 foot deep pit.
