The area was once farm land, however is now incorporated into the Abel Tasman National Park.

Wollastonite nodules found in a marble knoll immediately south of the former farm house site. Ovoid and less regular nodules up to 100 mm across of either quartz-calcite (without wollastonite), or nodules consisting mostly of wollastonite, with minor diopside, and a few irregular grains of grossular and ilmenite.

(Watters, 1985), mentions one vesuvianite specimen found at the location, having a knotted appearance 15 mms across, in part intergrown with coarse wollastonite.
