A former small underground Pb-Zn-Ag mine located in the East-central sec. 17, T.19S., R.25E, 1 mile NW of Courtland, on private land. Produced 1942. Operated at times by Mr. Paul Warnekross and Mr. L. Jones.
Mineralization is a contact metasomatic deposit with base metal sulfides plus lead carbonate and sulphate along the contact zone of Carboniferous limestone and intrusive quartz monzonite.
Local structures include limestone thrust over rhyolite; fault dips 40W; limestone dips 45E.
Workings include a shaft(s). A few tons of ore were produced in the early 1900's and 45 tons of ore were produced in 1942.
