Auto-FOV version 2

This is an updated version of the Auto-FOV hardware, a tool that automatically displays field of view in real time for micromineral photography using an adjustable bellows. This version includes a 2.4" touchscreen display for objective choice that is housed in a 3D-printed case. It uses an Adafruit feather STM32F405 express to calculate a rolling average field of view based on a laser sensor measurement of the bellow separation distance.

Field of View: 5.86 mm

Altered mass of heazlewoodite crystals in Ni-bearing chrysotile from the Ropes Gold mine. Pale green massive pecoraite and apple green coatings of mostly amorphous "zaratite" are also in association – the PXRD pattern of the amorphous coatings is variable but each contains weak broad humps that can be fit to nullaginite or to the spectrum of "zaratite" reported by Isaacs (1963). Horizontal field of view is 5.86 mm.

Grainy veinlets of grayish nsutite (XRD confirmed) in glassy black neotocite from the west test pit of the Alberta mine. The nsutite veinlet edges exhibit a fractal texture. Collected by Dan Fountain. Horizontal field of view is 6.1 mm.
