Test pits of an iron exploration begun in 1885 and originally known as the Blaney exploration, and after 1887 as the Wauneta exploration. The exploration lies in N1/2-SE-SE Sec. 27 T42N-R32W, a 20-acre area between N46º5'20", N46º5'26", W88º17'12", and W88º17'21". 1500 tons of ore were shipped, probably from the area where the Hope Mine shaft would be placed in 1891.
